We produce high volumes of Halal chicken products, which we proudly deliver daily throughout New Zealand. Being at the top of our game means requires the very best people across all functions.About the roleAn exciting opportunity has come up for an experienced food microbiology and hygiene expert to join our dynamic team and play a key role in providing technical expertise (shelf-life studies, sensory studies, cleaning, hygiene, and product quality improvement) to the manufacturing, product development and agriculture teams, to ensure products remain safe and are of best quality.Reporting to our Quality Manager, you will be actively involved in maintaining the site's honourable reputation in microbiological compliance with Regulatory and Customer StandardsThis role will be specialised in our microbiological performance including shelf-life studies and its extensive interpretation and analysis, and therefore it would be imperative for you have the necessary experience or skills in performing the tasks mentioned below.Day in the life of Quality Coordinator:Managing microbiological and chemical testing schedule.Coordinating microbiological samples and interpreting and reporting of micro results.Release of Ready to Eat product.Incubation and reading of hygiene check slides.Ordering of laboratory consumables.Training of sampler takers.Perform shelf-life studies across the entire product portfolio - new and existing.Provide support to manufacturing facilities with problem solving and troubleshooting of cleaning and hygiene issues.Provide support to the Quality Manager ensuring alignment to the delivery of company strategies, values, and behaviours.Identify and initiate projects that can lead to improved product shelf life.Provide technical expertise to project teams to ensure the food safety and quality integrity of new product launches.What will you bringA bachelor's degree in food science or food technology, majoring in food microbiology.At least 3 years' working experience in the area of food microbiology, shelf-life studies, sensory evaluation, cleaning and hygiene practices in a manufacturing environment is essentialKey competencies in microbiology, shelf-life studies, sensory evaluation, project management and product quality improvement.Good understanding of hygiene and cleaning principles and how it influences the shelf-life of food products.Understanding of HACCP principles.Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols, and experience working in compliance with regulatory guidelines and quality control standards.Effective coordination and communication skills with internal and external stakeholders (both verbal & written).Organisation and time management skills.Attitude for supporting cross functional teamwork.What's in it for youCompetitive remunerationLife Insurance + Medical InsuranceProducts at discounted pricesKiwisaver upto 4%If you are proactive, have an eye for detail, and want to make a real difference in your next role, apply today!Reference # 12530Posted on 26 Feb 2024Closes on 14 Mar 2024 12:00Location(s) Auckland, Henderson, Newmarket, Takanini, DruryExpertise Quality Assurance, Supply Chain and Technical Services#J-18808-Ljbffr
