The challenge (should you choose to accept it)
We have a permanent full time role for an experienced Quality Control Technician available to join our enthusiastic and supportive team, which includes 10 other technicians, 2 QC Team Leaders and the QC Manager.
Reporting to a QC Team Leader you will be motivated and independent, flexible, have an eye for detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills and enjoy working in a high speed manufacturing environment. Success in this role requires someone who can work effectively in a “hands on” capacity with a wide range of staff and can utilise their people skills with internal and external customers.
In this role you will be involved in the quality control process at every step; from raw material arrivals to finished product testing and release. You will conduct sampling, coordinate product samples for testing and retention, conducting sensory, chemical and microbiological analysis of products. Other duties include can seam checks, equipment calibration, monitoring of hygiene, GMP and HACCP, ensuring compliance to SOPs and intensive problem solving.
The QA Laboratory works a variety of shifts covering 24 hours, so you need to have flexibility in this area.
About you
We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Technician who has:
Proven ability to work well with a close-knit team.
Effective people skills, interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills.
Strong time management and planning skills.
A Diploma or higher qualification in chemistry, microbiology, food science or commensurate experience in FMCG.
Understanding and experience in control of HACCP and ISO9001 Quality systems in the food industry
Ability to build close working relationships with and drive a quality culture amongst the manufacturing team are key parts of the role.
Intermediate computer skills in Word and Excel
