Kiwifruit quality is super important for us here at Zespri, so we're looking ahead and growing our Quality Team for the 2024 season.The purpose of this role is to undertake audits of Kiwifruit at packhouse and coolstore facilities to ensure compliance with the Zespri Quality System and Specifications. This role will also require the knowledge of, and to actively support where appropriate, the Quality Assessor role to ensure compliance with Zespri System specifications and external regulatory systems.This opportunity is based in the Bay of Plenty, however travel to regional facilities in the Greater Bay of Plenty, South Auckland, Northland, Nelson and surrounding areas, Whanganui and Gisborne will be required. This is a fixed term opportunity commencing from April through until November 2024 and you will have business use of a Zespri Fleet Vehicle for the duration of the 2024 Season.Your responsibilities will include:Achieve and maintain appropriate sign off as a Zespri Product AssessorUndertake audits of allocated facilities and maintain their audit planWork closely and collaboratively with your assigned Zespri Quality Assessor to deliver the full facility audit plan including product, systems and container auditing in a consistent mannerCommunicate Zespri requirements to industry as part of the development of sound quality systemsAssist in the provision of training of industry staff when requiredFollow up and report on quality issues as appropriateDevelop strong working relationships with industry staff responsible for Quality & Compliance, including Quality, Compliance, Cool store, Inventory and Site Managers as applicableKo wai koe? Who are you?To be successful in this role, you will meet the following selection criteria:Sound knowledge/experience of one or more of the following preferred: kiwifruit grade standards, product assessments/inspection, industry QC experienceLiteracy and numeracy level required to be able to write accurate audit reports and complete numerical tasksCurrent full driver's license, and own reliable vehicle for travel to facilitiesAbility to successfully complete an eyesight test to required level (every 2 years)Ability to develop sound knowledge of the Zespri Quality System and specifications as well as external regulatory systems including GFSI Food Safety requirements .Experience in auditing proceduresConfidence in using the Microsoft Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and ability to be trained in the use of customised IT packagesIn order to meet the operational needs of the business, flexibility with work hours is essential. Weekend work (rostered) and scheduled night shifts (as per your facilities audit plan) will be required. Out of hours accessibility by phone/email is also necessary, particularly through main season.He aha e tika ai a Zespri?
