The teacher's role is a co-researcher and co-constructor in the learning process, which allows tamariki to explore, question, reflect, problem solve, theorise and encourages self-expression. Our centre has been purpose-built with tamariki in mind. Comprised of four rooms, The Cat's Pyjama's West Melton offers separate children's areas to cater for infants, toddlers and young children. All areas for the children are open concept, leading out to adventurous playgrounds. Our facilities are bright, open and spacious, with a wide range of carefully selected developmentally appropriate equipment and resources.

You will be joining a centre with strong connections within the local community. This role is based in our Navigators room, working alongside our 3-5 year old tamariki. Our Navigators learning space, both indoor and out is spacious, relaxed and allows tamariki to explore and learn through play while engaging with age-appropriate resources.
This is a fixed term position working 30 hours per week Monday-Friday.??This is to cover parental leave and will start end of May 2024 and ending in June 2025.

B Ed/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE or Primary) and current Teacher Certification? Good understanding of child-led curriculum, planning and extending on our children's learning? Demonstrate good knowledge of the current ECE Regulations, Te Whariki and hold compliance in a high regard? A strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi through pedagogical practices?
