About the role: Reporting into the Operations Manager, this opportunity will see you being responsible for managing the entire purchasing function for our client's manufacturing business (direct-based -raw materials, packaging and office consumables across approx. 100 suppliers). This will see you reviewing forecasting activities and putting supply plans in place as well as working closely with the production planning manager to ensure that purchase orders are raised on time so that inventory is available for scheduled production. This role will see you managing relationships with existing suppliers and working with them to review their performance. This role with provide you with the opportunity to work with a number of internal and external stakeholders. With a 3rd party manufacturers being used for some of the manufacturing, you will work with 3PMs to ensure raw materials are available for production. With our client's product range continuing to evolve, the role will see you working closely with the NDP/Quality team as they phase in and phase out products. About you: To be successful in this role, you will have experience in purchasing and supplier relationship management. It would be highly advantageous if you come with some experience in Supply Planning too so that you can hit the ground running with long-term purchase planning with suppliers. There is a strong preference that you will come from a manufacturing-based environment (ideally FMCG however a componentry/assembly-based environment could be considered). You will need to have a thorough understanding of the end-to-end supply chain process and have experience in using ERP systems/extracting data and working with it on Excel so that inventory and purchasing can be optimised. You will come with a continuous improvement mindset and enjoy working with data and suppliers to drive cost-saving initiatives while ensuring quality and serviceability is maintained at a high level.
