About the team/program
Embedded within the NZDF Supply Chain and reporting to the Team Lead NZ Material Management, this role will also provide an essential link between the Airbus Materials Management Team and the NZDF Supply Chain and is tasked with promoting and facilitating effective communications between the teams to meet business requirements including providing reports and information as necessary in an accurate and timely fashion.
About the role
The Purchasing Officer is a member of the Material Management business line which has the responsibility for the sourcing, purchase and management of aeronautical related spares and equipment within assigned product groups. This role is specifically responsible for the procurement for the SH2G Seasprite Aircraft and other aircraft if required, and management of Customer owned property as needed to meet specified Servicing and Aircraft availability requirement. You can anticipate some of your day-to-day activities to include:
Ensuring that all material is purchased at best cost, in the specified quantities and qualities
Progress purchase requests to meet defined required-by dates and promptly progressing forecast requirements
Issue and amend purchase orders for aeronautical related spares
Schedule order deliveries to meet urgency of need or contractual requirements
Assist with providing material quotes for operational needs
Maintain delivery status against open orders for reporting and job management within the ERP system
Provide accurate and timely reporting as required

About you
Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to build long-lasting, collaborative relationships with peers and interdependent functions; and manage conflicting priorities in a matrix organization. The knowledge, skills and experience best suited to this role would include:
Australasian Supply Chain recognised training course or equivalent
Proven experience working with SAP ERP, highly desirable
Detailed knowledge of Supply Chain principles - inventory and materials management
High level of purchasing knowledge to enable support for procurement activity
Broad knowledge of applicable legislation, regulations, (ITAR, export and import controls), standards and best practices relevant to Material Master Data Management
Proven purchasing experience and knowledge of end-to-end supply chain Key Performance Indicators
Familiarisation with the RNZAF Fleets, in particular the Seasprite aircraft
Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality and customer satisfaction
