An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our busy Purchasing team. We are looking for an individual with proven experience in a similar role working within a manufacturing/engineering environment with a good working knowledge of procurement/supply chain management and experience of using procurement and MRP databases.
Key Responsibilities include:
Working with supply base to ensure efficient and cost-effective supply of products, materials, and services ensuring all agreed terms including quality, budget, and delivery lead times are achievedManaging current supply base to develop relationships and carrying out site visits with key suppliersReducing expenditure by negotiating with suppliersDeveloping and implementing cost saving & process improvement initiativesManagement of all associated purchasing administration to underpin cost control and financial proceduresTimely reporting and expediting of delivery statusClosely liaise with stores department to ensure the provision of all raw materials and production consumables are in place to meet business requirementsRaising of purchase/subcontract orders and ensuring purchase system records are accurate and maintainedResolve discrepancies on orders, invoices and specifications as they arise, liaising with finance & suppliers as necessaryResponsible for collating the monthly key performance indicators for the purchasing departmentSuitable Candidates will demonstrate:
