As the Public Transport and Active Travel Manager, you will be responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership to ensure the delivery of high-quality public transport services. Your position will involve team leadership, public transport strategy development, risk management, financial management, and stakeholder engagement. Key responsibilities: Provide expert advice on public transport strategies and policies. Develop and implement active travel initiatives to benefit the community. Ensure integration of active travel strategies into wider transport plans. Manage public transport contracts and ensure quality service delivery. Prepare financial reports and manage expenditure against budget. Contribute to budget preparation and strategic planning processes. Cultivate strong relationships with stakeholders, including contractors and community groups. Engage with public transport providers and gather feedback from users. Represent the organization at meetings and community events. Implement robust risk management practices. Monitor compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Mitigate risks to health, safety, and the environment. What you will bring: A tertiary qualification in Engineering or equivalent. A minimum of five years' experience in operational public transport or strategic transport planning. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of relevant regulations and industry best practices, process and systems. Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
