An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated and dynamic individual to join our team as a Public Spaces Operations Assistant. This role offers a diverse range of responsibilities, allowing you to make a meaningful impact in our community. As a Public Spaces Operations Assistant, you will play a crucial role in processing and administering temporary event permits within public open spaces. You will be responsible for the processing and liaison of event applications, to satisfy all necessary consents, legislative requirements and regulatory compliance. Your excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with the public, community groups and internal departments will be key to the success of this role. As part of the Public Spaces team, you will have dedicated assets to manage and assist with auditing parks, reserves and open spaces within the Open Space Management Contract, to contribute to the overall maintenance and improvement of our public spaces. In addition, as an integral part of the Public Spaces Operations team, you will be dedicated to promoting civic pride through environmental enhancement activities including liaison with Keep NZ Beautiful Trust, collating data, investigation, cost and trend analysis, to provide valuable insights for improvement. You will have the opportunity to proactively educate and engage with community groups and regulatory authorities, fostering collaboration and implementing strategies to create a cleaner and healthier communities. Ou wheako –about you, To be successful in this role you will have: Proven ability to adapt and deal effectively with changing priorities and requirements Confident oral and written communications skills and people skills Advocacy skills in delivering educational programmes to schools, community groups etc Confidently handle multiple tasks simultaneously and be able to prioritise these to meet deadlines Proficiency in MS Word and Excel, and RAMM Software knowledge advantageous Experience in funding applications is desirable A current full NZ drivers licence Situated in the heart of Ngati Kahungunu, the Hastings district and Hawke's Bay offer an enjoyable environment in which to live, work and play.
