The Taranaki Public Health Service is seeking a Registrar in Public Health Medicine from January 2024.

Working as part of the National Public Health Service, this role will focus on the provision of public health medicine and epidemiological advice and working in partnership with iwi and hapu organisations, communities, local and central government agencies to help improve health and eliminate health inequities through preventing disease and promoting health for the Taranaki population of 120,000 and the wider population of Te Manawa Taki region.
This rewarding role will work closely with two local Public Health Medicine Specialists (1.5 FTE) as well as being an integral part of the wider NPHS Te Manawa Taki clinical team.
To be considered for this role it is essential that you are already an advanced trainee with the New Zealand College of Public Health Medicine Training Programme.
Your skills and attributes will also include the following:
• Competent in integrating Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Maori health models and frameworks into practice
• The ability to be courageous and willing to challenge the status quo in a professional manner
• The ability to see possibilities, potential and tangible opportunities to create an outstanding and integrated health system
• High levels of emotional intelligence, communication, and interpersonal skills as well as an ability to bring people together toward common goals
• Leadership and development skills
