Registrar or Senior House Officer - Psychiatry 1 FTE
Are you interested in an opportunity to develop your skills and experience as a Registrar/Senior House Officer in Psychiatry?
Hauora Tairawhiti has an opportunity to appoint a Senior Psychiatric House Officer or Registrar (PGY3) to work within our mental health and addictions services. This is a new post and although at this stage not accredited - the run is designed to the standard required for accreditation as a specialist training post. Support will be provided for the incumbent to enter a training post if this is desired and appropriate.
Tairawhiti can offer truly unselected mental health/psychiatry experience in a rural environment, with a great opportunity to work alongside us to improve outcomes for all, but particularly for Maori.
We are a small service and there is opportunity for the successful candidate to participate in a range of sub-speciality education and other service delivery for the purposes of gaining experience such as child and adolescent mental health, mental health of older people and community mental health.
An individual programme will be established between the Registrar/Senior House Officer and the supervisor and HOD to ensure a rewarding learning experience.
Participation in audit, quality improvement projects and research will be encouraged and supported.
The position as requires a Registration with Medical Council, with at least 2 year's experience and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team including the primary sector.
