This role sits with theLegal Services team. Its main function is to carry out property research,legalisation actions and other relevant tasks in relation to Council roads,reserves and other properties. The position in general supports the widerorganisation.Somekey responsibilities in this role include:Processing roadlegalisations within the framework of the Public Works Act 1981Processing roadstoppings and other road-related transactions within the framework of theLocal Government Act 1974Processingreserves-related transactions (leases, licences, easements,classifications, reclassifications and revocations) within the frameworkof the Reserves Act 1977Responding toproperty related enquiriesCreating easementrelating to Council infrastructureDraftingagreements for property related entry worksCollaborate withrelevant other departments in legalisation actions.Thesuccessful candidate will have:Experience andknowledge in performing actions under the Reserves Act 1977, LocalGovernment Act 1974 and Public Works Act.Experience andunderstanding of cadastral land information and survey plansAbility to engagewith Government agencies and manage professionals such as surveyors,solicitors, valuers etc. in a variety of situationsExperience inlocal government and an in-depth understanding of land and legalisationprocessesThe ability tointerpret legislation and case lawExperience inworking with and across various departments, as such collaboration skillsare essential.A flexibleworking environment is offered, accordingly the ability to workautonomously and efficiently is imperative.FarNorth District Council is a progressive and growing Council filled withlike-minded people who love what they do and are committed to providingsuperior services to residents in their community.Thesalary for this position isGrade14within Council's salary structure($69,616 – 81,901 gross per annum prorata)dependent on qualifications and experience, plusKiwi Saver.
