The role Reporting to the Network Delivery Manager, you will provide strategic oversight of Northpower's group facilities, ensuring they are safe and well-functioning to support the efficient operation of Northpower business areas. You will further extend technical support to other areas of the business, e.g., Contracting, to ensure our legal and lease obligations are met. Based in Whangarei, you will also be responsible for : - Day-to-day implementation of policies, procedures and programmes at Head Office and network owned properties to ensure effective management and maintenance - Manage office moves and alterations in an efficient and cost-effective way - Manage group-wide property and maintenance contracts/service providers (e.g. cleaning and security) - Manage Head Office facilities budgets and programme delivery (opex and capex), ensuring value for money - Be an advocate, role model and develop strong safety leadership through encouragement of proactive incident logging and field audit process What's in it for you? About you You will have experience working with contractors who manage facilities, a background in maintenance strategy and some knowledge in sales management. You will need to be pro-active and build trusting strong relations with our existing contractors. You will add value with experience in a work safe environment and ability to motivate, influence key stakeholders whilst managing change effectively. You will also need to demonstrate the following: -Relevant Tertiary qualification in facilities management, corporate real estate, project management or business administration will be highly advantageous -Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role - Knowledge of legal obligations for building management & experience in lease management - Proven project management skills -Exceptional communication ( both written and verbal) , presentation, and interpersonal skills to collaborate and negotiate with diverse stakeholders - An absolute commitment to safety; be mindful on safety for self, team, workmates, customers, the public, networks and environment with continuous, best practice of HSQE requirements according to our compliance procedures - Sound commercial and financial knowledge to deliver successful financial results with budget management Good judgment and solid decision making under pressure - Tenacity in taking problems through to successful outcomes - Ability to foresee challenges, read situations and respond efficiently and effectively About us Northpower is a New Zealand owned electricity and fibre network provider for Whangarei and Kaipara, with more than 60,000 connected customers.
