Now is the perfect time to join the Strategic Projects Unit at the Department of Conservation as we increase in size and capability to deliver nationally significant projects at Dolomite Point and the Oparara Arches
He angitutanga: About the Role
As the project stream lead, you will be responsible for leading the assigned work streams across the Dolomite Point and Oparara Arches. This role offers potential of working between the two projects - the direction of your attention will be dependent upon the stage of each project and relevant issues requiring your attention. The nationally significant nature of these projects offers the exciting opportunity to make a game changing positive impact on visitor experience. Due to the scale and/or nature of these projects, you will also need to be comfortable navigating complexity and dealing with a variety of stakeholders.
Please note this is a fixed term opportunity for a period of 2.5 years.

A high level of knowledge and practice of capital and operational budget management within the context of project delivery
A qualification and/or relevant experience in construction or project/contract management
Knowledge and experience in asset management
Expert knowledge of conservation and construction practices
Experience in managing projects and/or complex tasks
Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships
Ability to work at pace and achieve outcomes and deadlines
Ability to establish systems to adequately monitor progress with projects and contracts
Ability to perform quality planning and design tasks, solve workplace problems or apply established technical, administrative, financial and safety disciplines
Full driver's license
