Project Manager (Part time)Fixed term contract (10th June-13th December 2024 inclusive) About SCAPE Public Art: Held in Christchurch's central city public spaces andsupported through a range of partnerships SCAPE Public Art isrenowned for showcasing leading international contemporaryartists as well as being a springboard for new local talent.Going from strength to strength over the last 25 years, SCAPEPublic Art is a not-for-profit organisation. Creating asupportive and dynamic team has ensured that SCAPE PublicArt has established a strong footing within the OtautahiChristchurch arts sector in collaboration with industry partnersand stakeholders. SCAPE Public Art pride themselves ondelivering an annual free public art exhibition programme ofnew temporary and legacy public artworks as well as offeringfree education programmes to schools and communities inOtautahi Christchurch. Purpose of Role: The Project Manager works with internal and externalstakeholders towards delivering the co-ordination of thedesign, engineering, permissions (and consents), fabrication,installation and maintenance of the public art works inSCAPE's annual Public Art Season. Public Art Season (Saturday 23 November 2024 to 15 February 2025)• Support the Executive Director, Managing Curator and artists to deliver season artworks.• Ensure all season artworks are appropriately scoped, planned and delivered – on time and withinagreed budgets.• Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with artists, clients, fabricators andprofessional consultants.• Manage the procurement of building and resource consent compliances for the Public ArtSeason, where required.• Prepare reports and project updates for the Public Art Season. Draft agendas, attend meetings, record minutes and note action points from Season meetings,including the Industry Committee. Effectively manage project files and other information.• Prepare and track site proposals, licence agreements, licences to occupy, and letters ofundertaking.• Create and manage Health and Safety documentation and implementation, where required.2. Permanent/Legacy Public Artworks• Support external project managers to prepare documentation required for consent applicationsand ongoing maintenance.• Prepare presentations, documentation, reports and proposals required for clients, local councils,artists, consultants etc toward the curation and commission of public artworks.• Manage ongoing maintenance needs of public artworks as required. Prepare site studies, analysis for suitable public artwork locations. Support the Executive Director in the preparation of fee proposals and budgets Circulate communications with project teams and coordinate meetings.• Support funding applications where required with images, plans and copy on artists projects. ANY OTHER TASKS• Assist wider team with event support (particularly around Season opening) as required• Any other tasks as reasonably required by SCAPE Public Art Remuneration• $30 x 20 hours = $600 gross per week.• Plus 3% Kiwisaver• 20 hours per week (times to be mutually agreed) Person SpecificationSkills and Experience• Qualification in Architecture, Art or Arts Management, Construction or Project Management (orother relevant qualifications or experience)• Software skills utilising Google Workspaces (or equivalent) and other tools, particularly projectmanagement applications.• Ability to establish own work priorities and work autonomously as well as being an effective teammember.• Commitment to determining and implementing improvements within SCAPE's policies andproject management processes.• High level of confidentiality and professionalism.• Working knowledge of CAD, Abode Creative Cloud and/or equivalent software.• Experience in engaging with artists and/or consultants.• Knowledge of trends in art, architecture and design desirable.• Knowledge of construction methods, techniques and materials desirable.• Experience working in architecture, construction, or equivalent role, in design, development,implementation and construction desirable.• A current Site Safe Certificate desirable.Personal Attributes (Essential)• Excellent verbal and written communication skills• Pragmatic thinker, able to apply operational solutions• Work well in a team and have a collaborative approach.• Proactive, demonstrating initiative and intuition• Excellent interpersonal skills, particularly the ability to build relationships with a wide range of people from various backgrounds to senior executive level• Excellent time management skills and ability to develop and work to a plan, while managing competing priorities• Flexible, friendly with a good sense of humour• Ability to work unsupervised and with changing prioritiesPersonal Attributes (Desirable)• Passion for and knowledge of the arts and culture sector• Passion for Õtautahi Christchurch and Canterbury• Knowledge or experience of working within a not-for-profit organisation• Understand and actively uphold the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
