We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join a highly skilled team based in the Manawatu. This exciting opportunity will have you working alongside our Structures team on the Te Ahu a Turanga: Manawatu Tararua Highway, working to connect communities with a vital transport link between Ashurst and Woodville. In collaboration with our partners, we are building 11.5km of new highway between Ashurst and Woodville that includes six bridges, with two bridges 300m or more over the Manawatu River. The highway boasts two lanes in each direction, including a shared use path for walkers and cyclists and will be fully planted across the whole project site.
The purpose of the Project Engineer role is to provide technical and commercial support across a wide range of civil projects. General areas of work will include safety, quality and environmental support, involvement in programming, scheduling, procurement and developing methodologies for a range of projects including water and waste water plants, bridges, wharves, reservoirs, piling and other structures related works.
Our ideal candidate will possess:
Proven experience as a Project Engineer within the heavy civil / construction or infrastructure industry.Relevant academic background in Civil Engineering or a related field (degree).Ability to provide high-level technical and commercial support to the Project Managers.A strong commitment to Health & Safety.Exceptional time management - ensuring packages of work are completed on time, within budget, and according to programme.Excellent communication skills with a collaborative mindset and approach.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.In exchange, we offer a highly competitive compensation package with company vehicle, genuine opportunities for career advancement and development, and a workplace culture that values and recognizes dedication and contribution.
