About the Company
Our client is a highly successful consultancy servicing blue-chip clients across public and private sectors and going through a period strong growth. With the Australian governments large budget for defence upgrades, my client is seeking the services of aProject Controls Specialistto assist in servicing a major defence contract. The successful candidate will manage the project control resources on department of defence projects nationally, supporting the project manager with progress reporting including schedule updates, forecast to complete, variance identification and opportunities for improvement.
Key responsibilities:
Management of the project cost control team including cost engineers, planners and QS
Provide project controls management, including baseline schedule development and management
Advice and consult on the application of effective planning techniques and controls
Support programme integration, governance, formats, plan optimisation, and project controls best practices.
Support and advise on the definition of Project Controls and Earned Value Management policies, procedures and the standards required to deliver projects.
Support the development of integrated master schedules for specific programmes
Monitor and control programme compliance in respect of the projects contractual obligations.
Key requirements:
Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role with the public sector
Critical project experience on Australian Defence projects - please note, this is a mandatory requirement in order to be successful in your application
Effective communication within team and with stakeholders
Experience in the implementation of Earned Value Management based Project Control systems, in accordance with relevant national standards
Practical ability to utilise critical project management concepts (e.g. EVM, project planning, risk analysis, configuration management
