About the role We have a unique opportunity to join our PIMs team as a Project Assessment Officer. This is a newly revised role within Whangarei District Council which will specialise in the delivery of PIMS (Project Information Memorandums) and PA (Planning Assessments).
PIMS are council-prepared reports containing information on special land features and regulatory requirements likely to impact on your building project. PIMS tell our customers about service connections and provide information about the land on which you want to build and give designers the information they need to comply with Council requirements and to produce accurate drawings.
Our customers rely on PIMs to inform them if they need approvals under other legislation such as Resource Management Act, Fire Evacuation scheme or Heritage New Zealand approval.
Project Assessment Officers also complete planning assessment checks against building consents when submitted to Council across a range of building projects (residential and commercial). These assessments are an important step in the building consent process ensuring our customers projects comply with District Plan rules, bylaws, and a range of relevant policies.
