About the role
We have a permanent opportunity available for a Programme Coordinator to join MBIE's Strategic Policy and Programmes group.
You will be part of the Insights and Data Transformation team and report to the Chief Data and Insights Officer, and work closely with the Programme Manager and team.
You will lead and facilitate coordination across various projects, including planning and reporting, secretariat support for governance and advisory groups, coordinating events, meetings and stakeholder engagement activities, and providing administrative support for the team and work programme.
We are looking for someone with a passion for bringing structure to fast-moving projects and programmes. You will thrive on collaboration, continuous improvement and generating new ideas and ways of doing things.
About the group:
Insights and Data Transformation (IDx) leads a cross MBIE strategic change programme that aims to empower MBIE to transform New Zealand's data into insights and action to achieve our priorities.
MBIE's stewardship of data and use of insights plays a pivotal role in our success to grow NZ for all. MBIE is on a journey to becoming a data-ready and insights-led organisation. Since 2019, there has been a clear roadmap of initiatives to reach ‘data readiness'. In 2020, this roadmap is being refreshed to take MBIE to the next level.
IDx works at a strategic level to enable the delivery of MBIE's data-readiness strategy and roadmap. This programme includes 12 multi-disciplinary projects across five focus areas, including both technical delivery and cultural change projects. Projects connect people across MBIE using a range of methodologies including Agile, Design Thinking, Prince2 and MSP.

Skills and Experience:We are keen to hear from you if you have:
Preferably 2-3 years' experience in project or programme management, administration or related area
Excellent organisational skills and ability to develop and implement fit for purpose, innovative systems, processes and documentation
Excellent communication (written, visual and oral) skills, including ability to summarise and convey key points from large amounts of information.
Interest in the evolving role of data and insights in enabling actions, decisions and innovation
High attention to detail and accuracy in written and numerical work
Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills
Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative team environment
Flexibility to adapt within a fast moving environment and learn new systems and approaches
Knowledge and understanding of working in a government agency
Significant proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn new systems
