About the role As a Principal Stormwater Engineer you will join our busy and thriving water team in New Zealand. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to deliver positive outcomes through Te Mana o te Wai for infrastructure and development projects across Aotearoa New Zealand and beyond.
In this varied role, you will
Improve the way stormwater is understood in Aotearoa New Zealand by working with our clients, the communities and our teams.
Take a lead in resilience, adaptation and recovery works across the country.
Take a technical lead role, be a reviewer or act as an advisor to deliver strategy, planning, design and innovation across a range of stormwater projects from catchment planning to reconstruction following storm events.
Deliver various stormwater infrastructure, including climate change mitigation, nature-based solutions and water sensitive urban design (WSUD) elements.
Liaise with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders including mana whenua, urban designers, clients and technical experts across many disciplines.
Provide guidance and mentoring to junior staff to grow their skill.
Grow and develop yourself both technically and professionally . What you will bring You will have a successful track record of technically leading complex stormwater designs in a multi-disciplinary environment. Excellent organisation and time management skills are a given, along with a project delivery mindset, to ensure deadlines are achieved.
Additional attributes that may help you succeed in the role:
Tertiary qualifications in Civil or Environmental Engineering
Extensive demonstrated experience in stormwater design
Expert user across relevant stormwater software
Ability to lead projects whilst developing and mentoring other team members
Well-developed communication skills to collaborate with a range of stakeholders in order to achieve project outcomes
Collaborative in nature and proven ability to work with local and virtual teams across New Zealand
A curious mind to question how we can achieve better outcomes
