Are you motivated by the prospect of building your project management career across a wide range of engineering disciplines, while helping to establish essential public transport (PT) infrastructure for the Auckland Region? The PT, Facilities & Structures Project (PTFS) team have a range of exciting PT related projects and programmes in the pipeline. The PTFS team is responsible for delivering minor capex and asset renewal projects across a diverse range of engineering disciplines including, rail, bus and ferry station facilities, marine infrastructure, mechanical and electrical, structural engineering, vertical infrastructure etc. i.e. virtually every mode of public transportation infrastructure - except roads and cycleways.

You will…
Coordinate and lead projects and programmes in the marine, rail and facilities environments in accordance with schedule requirements, optimising time, cost, and quality project performance outcomes.Engage and/or collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand project requirements, review designs, develop construction strategies, etc.Have a high degree of proficiency managing project schedules, finances, risks and issues, and project reporting.Lead by example, mentoring junior staff in the practical application of project management best practice, processes, principles, and reporting.Initiate and lead tender processes and implement effective procurement strategies and governance arrangements to monitor supplier performance.Contribute your industry experience and expertise in respect of project management best practice, regulations, guidelines, standards and project controls.Work with the Planning and Property teams to successfully obtain required consents/agreements and ensure requirements are met during design and physical works.Have a successful track record of project delivery, ideally related to infrastructure disciplines incl. rail, marine, structures, mechanical & electrical engineering or similar - from initiation to asset handover.Be driven to achieve successful outcomes, delegate effectively and empower others; utilising all resources effectively to achieve the best outcomesCompetent business acumen with a focus on financial, commercial and contractual literacy, as well as stakeholder and strategic awarenessHave a relevant industry-recognised tertiary qualification in engineering, construction, project management or related discipline - bachelor's degree, diploma, or certificateHave a solid understanding and appreciation of the workings and functions of local government, including current and future business drivers and statutory requirementsBe customer oriented while maintaining a best for project, delivery and quality focus.Have a thorough, practical understanding of the application of safety in design and construction project stages including relevant Health & Safety regulations and legislationBe customer oriented while maintaining a best for project, delivery and quality focus.Have or be working toward a professional project management qualification e.g. PMP or PRINCE2 or equivalent.At AT, weembraceinclusion and fully support building a diverse workplace where people come first and we feel safe, respected, valued and supported, inclusive of our differences.Our values are more than just words - they are integral to everything we do.
