We have a newly created opportunity for a Principal Consultant to join our national Planning team and grow our team in New Plymouth. Working alongside our dynamic, supportive, and passionate team, you will be up for a challenge and ready to assist us in growing SLR's vision for the wider Planning team. As a senior member of the Planning team, you will provide technical input and project management of key Planning and Policy projects, whilst also supporting other Planning workstreams across the discipline nationally. A key part of this role will be establishing and growing our Planning discipline across Taranaki, partnering with leaders from other disciplines to do so. Applying technical leadership internally to the Planning team and externally to SLR's Core Clients will also be key, including oversight and direction of contractual arrangements, supervision of project delivery to meet time and financial budgets, and undertaking technical work while achieving the client's needs. Key ResponsibilitiesWhat we need from youMotivated and driven to support SLR'S growth targetsExperience in land development, regional consenting, and policy, including within energy and power sectorsA degree in Planning or equivalent recognised by NZPIA full member of NZPI 10-15+ years of resource consent and planning experience in New ZealandKnowledge and experience of applying the Resource Management Act to development and infrastructureExcellent organisational and prioritisation skillsAn aptitude for building and maintaining great relationships with clients and colleaguesA resilient and adaptable attitude; see yourself as a can-do person with a calm and confident communication styleAbility to work at a strategic level with core clientsAbility to translate strategic advice into deliverable work for clientsAn understanding of the principles of Te Tiriti o WaitangiA drive and passion to achieve outstanding resultsDemonstrated experience in local government and private sector development projects Our benefits at SLR includeThis is an exciting growth phase for SLR in the New Zealand.
