Principal Advisor, Assurance at Whaikaha - Ministry of Disabled People, Wellington - Wairarapa Whaikaha – Ministry of Disabled People has a unique mandate of having responsibility to steward change across Government, while commissioning disability support services, as well as transforming how these services are delivered.
Disabled people expected to have greater choice and control over the supports and services they receive to lead their best life. We are committed to this by strengthening relationships and working in partnership with disabled people, tangata whaikaha Maori, Pacific disabled people and their whanau.

As the Principal Advisor Assurance, you will support the Manager Risk and Assurance to ensure that assurance is integrated appropriately and consistently into all aspects the Whaikaha strategic, operational and project activity.
You will establish and maintain strong and influential relationships and build confidence with senior management across Whaikaha and external stakeholders. This will enable you to provide technical and high-quality advice to the Leadership Team, managers and staff on all aspects of Whaikaha assurance activities.
You will be responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of core frameworks and tools that will set the expectations around assurance activities within Whaikaha
Ko wai koe | About You: You will have proven experience in assurance or audit at a senior level and have designed, developed and implemented assurance plans.
You have experience providing workshops and assurance reporting to senior leaders, committee members and stakeholders.
You will be experienced and confident managing multiple projects and prioritising the demands of a diverse range of stakeholders.
Your strong relationship management skills will allow you to establish, build and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of across Whaikaha, as well as with key stakeholders.
To undertake this role successfully, you will be a disabled person or be able to establish credibility and trust with the disability community, as well as having empathy and an understanding of the unique and diverse experiences of disabled people.
We are expecting to place this role around $145,744 however the salary offer will be based on the skills and experience that the preferred candidate brings to the role.
