Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity Join the Strategy, Planning and Purchasing Business Unit who design the future of Hospital & Specialist Services. We plan over 1-, 3-, 5-, 10 and 20 year time horizons.
Our core workstreams this year include:
Nationwide Clinical Service Planning with Clinical & Strategic Networks Service Prioritisation & Investment Nationwide Strategic Change Programmes, particularly in cancer and diagnostic services Nationwide Strategic Production Planning Strategic Budget & Funding System for Hospitals & Specialist Services HSS Intelligence & Insights The Principal Advisor, Prioritisation & Investment is an important and pivotal role within the newly developed service prioritization and investment work. The focus is the provision of advice to support data and evidence driven decisions to prioritise investments in Hospital & Specialist Services. This is an exciting role that will help build out the frameworks and approach to this advice as well as facilitating the provision of the advice itself. The multi-layered advice will be a key input to the production and maintenance of a prioritized Service Investment Pipeline for H&SS and other change programmes. To be successful, this role requires both expert knowledge as well as high levels of collaboration working with others, both in and outside the organisation.
Mou | About you The successful applicant comes with at least 10 years experience in providing advice on prioritisation and investment over different time periods and to different audiences. You're a highly skilled, collaborative, and organised individual who has the ability to pull together clear ideas and conclusions from technical information including data and write and talk about the issues at both strategic, organisational and service intervention levels. The role requires excellent knowledge in how to collate and curate information, be connected to and aware of international trends in this area, and be able to think ahead, use initiative, and meet deadlines while maintaining high levels of accuracy and confidentiality.
Nga pukenga me nga wheako | Skills and experience A relevant tertiary qualification. Relevant experience in organisational prioritisation and investment, acquired over 10+ years, ideally in health but also welcome experience from other sectors. Experience in developing and applying critical thinking and contemporary frameworks to provide advice, particularly in complex or contentious areas. Demonstrable experience collaborating and working with others to deliver outcomes for people and communities.
