Precision Horticulture Technician

Fruition provides crop and canopy scanning services to the Hawke's Bay and Bay of Plenty fruit industries. We are the NZ exclusive provider of the Green Atlas Cartographer which uses machine vision to count buds, flowers and fruit and LiDAR to measure canopy geometry. The combination of these technologies helps our clients optimise their orchard performance. We have ambitious plans to scale up and develop our services and need another keen and capable person to join the team on the next stage of our journey. We seek a switched-on, hands-on and energetic person who is willing to work both outside getting amongst it while being comfortable working inside crunching data. We've set the bar high and want a: 'techie' person who enjoys analysing and understanding data,  'people' person who will work in well with our team and clients, 'fruit' person who understands the realities of fruit growing, Putting all this together, we really want someone who enjoys and is good at communicating information and insights to our customers to help them succeed. There is not much that we can't teach you on the job, and we'll give you ample autonomy for you to test your ideas. but the successful candidate for this permanent and salaried position should ideally: have some horticultural experience  enjoy using technical equipment  be good with computers and IT  be physically fit and able.
