Mo Tenei Turanga Mahi | About the RoleAs part of the EIT | Te Pukenga Executive Leadership team the Poutahi - Executive Director Maori will lead and implement Maori student success strategic initiatives striving towards Te Tiriti o Waitangi Excellence. The Poutahi - Executive Director Maori is accountable for the strategic leadership of Maori-Crown Relations and Te Tiriti o Waitangi excellence within and for EIT ensuring; institutional governance, management and operations give effect to Te Tiriti o Waitangi; Maori are recognised as critical partners in regional social, environmental, and economic development; and EIT responds to the needs of and improve outcomes for learners, whanau, hapu, iwi, and employers. The appointing salary for this role will be between $195,000 up to $220,000, dependent on skills and experience.The Pouarahi Maori – Executive Director Maori is based in our EIT | Te Pukenga reporting to the Executive Director – Rohe Rua and will be responsible for: · Providing expertise within the executive team on matters impacting on Maori tertiary achievement and work collaboratively with executive leaders to develop options for strategic responses.· Providing leadership within the executive team and broader EIT leadership to improve and enhance the integration of tikanga and te reo in the everyday leadership of EIT.· Leading EIT's capability growth, to lift understanding and respond effectively to the needs of Maori and iwi within EIT communities. He korero mou| About you· Proven thought leadership and strategic advisory experience, particularly in the context of establishing a Tiriti o Waitangi honouring organisation and creating system change for Maori. · Demonstrated experience in operationalising strategies and frameworks, developing business plans, and managing risks and operational and strategic issues. · Experience in advocating and leading the inclusion and application of Te Tiriti o Waitangi practices, advocating the use of te reo, tikanga and matauranga Maori in the workplace.
