Pou Whirinaki Ki Waitaha | Regional Champion - Central Pou Whirinaki Ki Waitaha | Regional Champion - Central Employment Type: Fixed term / Full time Salary band: 77,112.00 – 87,822 Location: Otautahi – Christchurch Waitaha/Central Region (Otautahi based with regional travel involved) We are seeking a dedicated individual to fill the vital role of Pou Whirinaki. This position plays a critical role in supporting our Whanau Ora Navigators and partners throughout the Waitaha/Central region. This role sits within a team of three Pou Whirinaki who support the regions of Te Waipounamu with teammates supporting Te Tau Ihu /Upper South Island and Te Tai Tonga/Lower South Island. Ko ta matou mahi - Our role The Pou Whirinaki acts as a crucial connection between our agency and Whanau Ora Navigators and partners, ensuring effective and efficient service delivery and community engagement. The role includes: • Strengthening community relationships and forging new partnerships. • Supporting and communicating regularly with Whanau Ora Navigators and partners to ensure effective and efficient service delivery. • Attending community events, engaging with local leaders, and advocating for Whanau Ora initiatives. • Monitoring progress and impact of services, ensuring alignment with our strategic goals. Responsibilities include: • Collaborate and communicate with Navigators, communities, and leaders to strengthen ties and support initiatives. • Establish and maintain a network that harnesses the social connections of whanau and Whanau Ora Navigator host organisations. • Serve as the primary contact for positive stories and address any issues or concerns raised by Whanau Ora Navigators and partners. • Facilitate continuous communication and collaboration across Te Waipounamu. • Support Whanau Ora Navigators in building and sustaining professional networks, both online and in person, fostering relationships and shared learning. • Regularly assist Whanau Ora Navigators and partners in measuring and monitoring their progress through formal evaluations and whanau surveys and ensure timely delivery of contract reports. • Actively promote the Whanau Ora approach to foster understanding and enthusiasm among community members and stakeholders. Ou pukenga - What you will bring • Experience working within a kaupapa Maori framework and deep understanding of te ao Maori. • Established credibility and relationships within the Maori community. • Demonstrated proficiency in Te Reo Maori and Tikanga. • A deep understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application in community engagement. • Excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for community engagement. • Flexibility and ability to work under pressure and travel within the region. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Confidence in articulating and understanding the Whanau Ora approach. • Willingness to engage with whanau, hapu, and iwi networks throughout Aotearoa.
