AdvertJob DescriptionSLR's purpose is Making Sustainability Happen, which we achieve by having a team of expert advisors and technicians, who partner with our clients to tackle some of the world's most complex sustainability challenges. An exciting opportunity has come up for a driven and experienced Planning Consultant to join our national planning team in Dunedin.With the opportunity to be involved in a diverse range of projects across the country, you will be assisting us in maintaining and growing SLR's vision by providing exceptional client and project management services to our expanding client base. You will provide technical input and project management of key Planning and Policy projects, whilst also supporting other Planning workstreams across the discipline nationally. This will include oversight and direction of contractual agreements, supervision of project delivery to meet time and financial budgets and undertaking technical work while achieving the client's needs. What we need from youA degree in Planning or equivalent recognised by NZPIA full member of NZPI or working towards full membership5-8 years of resource consent and planning experience in New ZealandKnowledge and experience of applying the Resource Management Act to development and infrastructureA good working knowledge of district and regional planning and consentingExcellent organisational and prioritisation skillsAn aptitude for building and maintaining great relationships with clients and colleaguesA resilient and adaptable attitude; see yourself as a can-do person with a calm and confident communication styleAbility to work at a strategic level with core clientsAbility to translate strategic advice into deliverable work for clientsAn understanding of the principles of Te Tiriti o WaitangiA drive and passion to achieve outstanding results Key ResponsibilitiesBenefitsOur culture is unique where we work together to collaborate on projects to get the best possible outcome for our clients.
