Planning Administration Officer (Fixed Term) Do you pride yourself on your organisational skills? Do you have an eye for detail and accuracy? The Waimakariri District Council serves a community of over 60,000 that is experiencing rapid growth with a high rate of development accompanied by corresponding demands on administrative functions. The Council is seeking an administrator to work within the Planning Unit based in Rangiora.
The successful applicant will be responsible for providing administrative support including file management, maintaining reporting systems for tracking resource consent applications, organising meetings, and taking minutes. Undertaking the administrative tasks to set up resource consent applications and issue decisions will be part of your day-to-day responsibilities.
This role will suit someone with an interest in development, who enjoys interacting with a wide range of stakeholders, and thrives on accuracy and efficiency of information and processes. We are looking for someone who is a strong team player with exceptional customer service skills and a "can do" attitude. Being able to prioritise workloads and deal with multiple tasks in high-pressure situations is essential. An understanding of local government would be useful but is not essential.
The position is fixed term for 18 months. However, if workload increases, it could become a permanent position.
