In-house services offered to their clients include Planning, Surveying, Project Management, Structural Engineering, Civil and Construction Engineering, and Architecture. The Hamilton office is in growth mode and has been expanding its client base and project workload due to the quality of service they offer. Currently, they are involved in many large-scale integrated housing developments, commercial developments, and unique industrial projects as well as a range of other works in the wider Central North Island and Bay of Plenty Regions. About the role Terra Consultants have a position for a Planner to join the team in their Hamilton office. This role will see you assisting an established team to deliver a vast array of challenging and interesting consenting projects. You will join a high-performing and close-knit team who pride themselves on their efficient and innovative outputs. You will be involved in a diverse array of development projects at all stages of the consenting process, using your developing expertise to deliver high value and innovative resource management solutions. What a typical day would look like: You will report to the planning manager in the Hamilton office and will have the opportunity to work closely with senior members of staff. You will review and critically assess a myriad of development proposals against relevant Council rules. You will provide clear and concise planning advice to clients and other parties. You will coordinate and manage consultant teams, including external consultants. You will utilise your relationships with Council staff and consultants to achieve optimised consenting outcomes. Your ideal experience and attributes include: * The ideal candidate has a relevant tertiary qualification. * A minimum of 3-5 years relevant New Zealand experience ideally in a consulting environment or Local Government Authority within the Waikato Region. * A sound understanding of resource consent processes. * Excellent written and oral communication skills. * Well-organised, self-motivated, confident and ambitious. * A great sense of humour.
