Details of the offer

We are recruiting a Pharmacy Assistant to join the Pharmacy Aseptic Production Unit (PAPU) within Auckland District Health Board's (ADHB) Pharmacy Department.
ADHB Pharmacy Department is an innovative and exciting place to work. We employ over 100 staff including those working within two retail pharmacies, Aseptic Production Unit and a flagship inpatient service. We serve over 1200 inpatient beds. Our guiding principle is to put the patient first in everything we do. We are committed to do and be our best, to value and support all staff, to work together with trust, respect and honesty, and display commitment and accountability. This is so we can provide a quality service to the people and patients we care for.
Pharmacy assistants work with PAPU management, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and other pharmacy assistants to support the delivery of an efficient, safe, accurate and cost effective chemotherapy service to cancer and blood patients at Auckland DHB.
Duties will be undertaken primarily within a 'clean room' according to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and will include:
assembling items ready for chemotherapy compounding
daily and scheduled intensive cleaning and monitoring of the manufacturing facilities
stock rotation, monitoring and ordering of pharmaceuticals and consumables

delivering chemotherapy (and other pharmaceuticals) across the hospital
filing and other administrative tasks
Successful applicants will possess a minimum of NCEA level 1 (or equivalent) in Mathematics and English, speak fluent English and be able to demonstrate accurate numeracy, administrative and computer skills.
