The Dentaland Oral Health Service provides dental care for many patients over two sites(Wellington and Kenepuru Hospitals). We are responsible for the dental care ofpatients who are unable to access care privately, patients who requireadmission for their dental care, patients who have suffered acute trauma, andpatients who require essential dental treatment as part of their medical orsurgical treatment. We also operate a relief-of-pain service for low-incomeindividuals who are in pain.
This rolealso includes a one-in-four on-call component. This is to respond to acute oraland maxillofacial cases where you will be assessing, as required, urgent casesof extra-oral swelling, uncontrolled oral bleeding and jaw fractures with thesupport of the on-call oral and maxillofacial surgeon.
Whileworking with us you will have the opportunity to experience the differentpatient mix at both Wellington and Kenepuru. Within the team senior dentistswork at both sites and are available to provide support should you require it.You will also have the opportunity to work with our visiting oral surgeons, MrManish Patel and Mr Brendan Young, and with our visiting oral medicinespecialist, Dr Ajith Polonowita.

RMO salaries are calculated based on relevant previous years ofexperience and the average weekly hours of work as set out in the relevant rundescription. For the current salary bands, please refer to either the Specialty Trainees of New Zealand (SToNZ) orResident Doctors’ Association (RDA) Multi-Employer Collective Agreements.
Experience and Eligibility

Suitable for Dental Officers who will be commencing PGY2 by the role commencement date
You must have eligibility for general registration with the Dental Council of New Zealand.
