The role is on our awakenight shift working Thursday to Saturday, 11pm – 7.30am, based in a beautifulhomestead in Christchurch.

You'll need to haveyour own journey of lived experience with mental health to become a PeerSupport Specialist in our Peer Acute Alternative Service. Our service is an alternativeto hospital admission and is supported by a total of 24 staff members acrossthe various shift patterns. 

In this role you'll be:

Focusing on the individuals needs and providing culturally safe practice Relevant administrative tasks, comprehensive notes and effective handover, and supporting and collaborating with your colleagues Support people with independent daily living skills. You'll need to be prepared to support our clients to do whatever it takes While the people you support are asleep, you will be kept busy with other tasks like cleaning and supporting the day shifts with maintaining things like filing, first aid kits, emergency kits and preparation of paperwork.  About You | Mou
As well as your own personal experience ofmental health services you'll have completed peertraining and the level 4 certificate in Health and Wellbeing (orequivalent). Your lived experience isvalued in this role and used to enhance the way we support people in a recoveryfocused way, including utilizing your recovery tools for the people we supporton their recovery journey. You'll besupported in your own career pathways as a peer, to grow peer leadership. Thisrole also requires you to be able to provide medication support for our peopleand have impeccable attention to detail.

You'll also have:

NewZealand Certificate Level 4 in Health and Wellbeing (or a recognisedequivalent). You'll have Intentional Peer Support training(IPS) or Peer Employment Training (PET) Certificate or be willing to studytowards one. You will have completed WRAP training Period of wellness of 18 months before applying A full New Zealand drivers licence You must hold a current comprehensive first aidcertificate or be willing to obtain one.
