This part-time position (0.6 to 0.8 FTE) offers flexibility, preferably with full days on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and flexible hours on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Based at the Pathlab building within the Tauranga Hospital site, the Payroll Advisor will be responsible for end-to-end payroll functions, maintaining compliance with relevant legislation, and supporting the Senior Payroll Advisor and HR Manager. This encompasses five independent employment entities, each with four Collective Employment Agreements (CEAs) covering staff working across 24-hour, 7-day rosters.Key responsibilities include:Process payroll for employees accurately and on time.Ensure compliance with New Zealand payroll legislation and regulations.Prepare and submit statutory returns, including PAYE and KiwiSaver.Maintain employee payroll records and documentation.Provide payroll-related support and guidance to employees and managers.Assist with payroll reporting and analysis as required.Pathlab employees are your customers – excellent customer service is essential.You consider yourself a professional with proven payroll experience, confident in processing five standalone payrolls.You are resilient, extremely organised, self–reliant, and can process end-to-end New Zealand Payroll.Able to maintain high energy and focus till the deadline is met.Ideally, you will have at least three years of experience in payroll processing, preferably in New Zealand.Bring a deep understanding of New Zealand payroll legislation, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.Have experience with collective employment agreements and interpretation of allowances.Be familiar with relevant legislation like the Holidays Act, Employment Relations Act, and KiwiSaver regulations.Insight into payday filling (PAYE).Excel in attention to detail and accuracy.You possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.You are capable of working effectively in a fast-paced environment and meeting deadlines.When you join us, you can expect a solid induction where we will be helping you settle into the team and find your feet.
