Patient Flow Operations Manager - Southland Southland Hospital Make a difference to the experience of our healthcare consumers Work closely with your Otago counterpart Permanent, full-time position Mo te turanga - About the role The Patient Flow/Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring effective patient flow is occurring within Southland Hospital daily, with oversight across Gore and Lakes as well. They will work with the relevant leader positions to ensure that issues are identified wherever possible in advance and resolved, ensuring a safe and comprehensive delivery of contemporary high-quality health and disability services. All while leading initiatives to improve patient flow. Key responsibilities are (include but not limited to): Planning and leading activities to improve patient flow through the hospital Coordinating activities which ensure effective functioning of the hospital on a day-to-day basis Coordinating operations planning meetings and ensuring resources are directed in a timely manner to optimise safe staffing Working in partnership with Clinical and Managerial Leadership and Directors of Nursing and Midwifery Provide strategic, operational, technical and managerial support to the Chief Operating Officer team Monthly reporting and annual FTE calculations Variance Response Management (VRM) functions You will be an excellent communicator with a passion for figuring things out. You can look at a process and know how it works and how to improve upon it. You create strong morale around you, foster open dialogue and a feeling of belonging in a team.
