Pastry Cook

We are a Wellington based Chinese restaurant providing authentic A La Carte Chinese cuisine. Now we are looking for an experienced pastry cook to prepare and bake our wide range of Yum Cha items.  Job duties of the position offered  checking the cleanliness of equipment and operation of premises before production runs to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations  checking the quality of raw materials and weighing ingredients  kneading, maturing, cutting, moulding, mixing and shaping dough and pastry goods  preparing pastry fillings  monitoring oven temperatures and product appearance to determine baking times  coordinating the forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning and cooling of batches of bread, rolls and pastry products  glazing buns and pastries, and decorating cakes with cream and icing  operating machines which roll and mould dough and cut biscuits  emptying, cleaning and greasing baking trays, tins and other cooking equipment Requirements of the position offered  you must have a Level 4 qualification in bakery field or 3 years relevant work experience.  Be available to work on weekends and public holidays as per the roster  Flexibility to work within a 7-Days a week operation including split shifts  Be able to work in a fast-paced environment with good communication skills and team spirit  Able to work till late evenings Can pass police check and drug test Other details of the position offered - Company Name: Grand Century Chinese Restaurant Limited - Trading Name: Grand Century - This is full-time and permanent position - Location of work: Wellington - Number of positions vacant: 1 - Hourly rate: $30 to $32 - Hours: 40 hours per week (Minimum 30 hours guaranteed).
