Wild Wheat is Looking for an experienced Pastry chef to join the team at 58 Ascot Road, Mangere.
Beginning in 1999, Wild Wheat is now in its 25th year of operation, and from humble beginnings has grown into a bustling business consisting of six retail stores, an impressive portfolio of more than 400 wholesale customers and now boasts supply deals with premium grocery outlet Farro and meal kit services My Food Bag and WOOP.
Andrew Fearnside, founder and Head Baker, has built Wild Wheat with a health-based approach of 'good food that is good for you.' Famous for our sourdough products, we continue to collect awards for many products, including our kumara sourdough, and we're consistently awarded praise for having some of the best hot cross buns in the country.
Our product is at the forefront of what we do, and there isn't a better example of this than Andrew baking the traditional way with long ferments, hand- shaped and hearthbaked, we take great pride in beaing a market leader with our sourdough breads.
We're looking for an experinced Pastry Chef to Join the team, who wish to become an integral part of what we provide to our retail and wholesele customer daily.
Previous kitchen experince will be needed with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. A positive and can-do attitude is essential, as are the key qualities of being reliable and trust-worthy.
Ideally you will have a minimum of 6 months in Pastry or Lavel 4 qualification required.
Working in a strong team environment you'll be tasked with striving to do the best you can every day. There are long periods on your feet and heavy lifting, so being physically fit is important.
This full time role is for the day shift ( We are a 24hour operation) 6am - 2/3pm across a 7 day roster. A highly competitive wage is available for the right candidate plus room to develop and grow within a large busy bakery operation.
