Part Time Yard Assistant

We are industry leaders in supplying Cherry pickers, Scissor lifts & Knuckle booms for hire to the construction industry.An opportunity has arisen in our busy Dunedin Branch for a yard assistant.Predominantly this will be a yard assistant position, but the successful applicant with a Class 2 licence could also be utilised on occasion.Initially this is a part-time role Monday - Friday 25-30 hours a week starting at 7:30am, however there may be the potential of becoming full time in the future.JOB SUMMARYPerforming daily de-hire checks on machinery returning from hire.Cleaning and minor maintenance of machines.Assisting in loading/unloading of machines, and assisting customers in the hire yardMaintaining yard and surrounding area as requestedDelivering machines via trailer.Performing electrical testing on site (training provided).Responsible for delivery and collection of machinesProvide machine inductions to hirers upon deliveryEnsure the vehicles you are responsible for are kept in a clean and tidy condition at all times (when practical)Performing other duties that may arise as requestedJOB REQUIREMENTSDrivers License - Class 1 - full,  Class 2 would be an advantageSilver Card /IPAF – training providedExperience in transporting machineryBasic computer literacyPERSONAL QUALITIES:Enthusiasm and excellent people skillsInitiative & self motivationHigh degree of loyalty and integrityAbility to work individually & as part of a team.An ability to make informed decisions, recommend action and implement.High level of personal grooming and hygiene.Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
