New Zealand owned and a market leader they are experiencing year-on-year growth.As a result, they are looking for a greater focus on packaging development and delivery.This position will ensure you work with key stakeholders across the business and lead key relationships with suppliers, looking at packaging development with a large emphasis on sustainabilityThe roleThis is a broad-based role and will allow you toApply sound packaging development principles from concept to launch, managing projects independently to timely completion.Develop packaging solutions for New Product Development (NPD) projects in collaboration with Procurement, Marketing, and Operations teams.Ensure accuracy in product cost estimates, barcode allocation/verification, and system data.Seek out optimisation opportunities in process and packaging to maintain high standards.Provide technical support on packaging issues, identify innovation opportunities, and coordinate factory line trials and transportation testing.Build and maintain relationships with key packaging suppliers and drive sustainable initiatives aligning with global sustainability goals.Develop and train Operational Teams on packaging performance testing procedures.Align packaging processes with customer specifications and collaborate for effective label design and implementation.Partner with Process Engineers for product launches and enhancements, and lead sustainable packaging technology initiatives.Evaluate and propose improvements to manufacturing processes and coach staff on optimizing packaging operations.Communicate new packaging developments across all levels and participate in continuous improvement reviews.Skills and ExperienceA tertiary qualification in Packaging, Food Technology, Engineering, or a related field.Minimum 2 years' experience in a packaging role.Experience in high-speed packaging, manufacturing, or FMCG environments.Project management skills and technical proficiency including detail orientation, experiment design, and structured problem-solving.Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage relationships effectively across the organisation.A proactive, initiative-driven approach with a focus on continuous personal and professional growth.This role offers varied experience, ideal for a packaging technologist seeking a broad technical development role and looking to influence the production environment through machinery improvement and technology innovation.Report this job advert Don't provide your bank or credit card details when applying for jobs.#J-18808-Ljbffr
