It's our name on the box!Taylor's has a career opportunity for permanent orchard foremen/supervisors.Job Description:As an orchard foreman/supervisor you will direct and motivate your team using your skills and expertise in all aspects of orchard operations including: pruning, thinning, picking, spraying and general upkeep of orchard grounds.Reporting to the Orchard Manager, you will be hands-on with your team, undertaking a variety of tasks as directed and complete those in a timely manner, safely, and to specification with minimum supervision.POSITION REQUIREMENTSOrchard experience across all aspects of orchard operations preferred but not essentialReliability & dependabilitySafety conscious and concerned for the well-being of others in the team.Excellent delegation and communication skills, both written and verbalAttention to detail and quality.Basic numerical skillsThe successful applicant will be:Attentive and focusedAbility to work with minimal supervision on a day-to-day basis.High standard of workmanshipSelf-motivatedBe forthright with ideas and suggestions.Can be relatable and show empathy with team members from a variety of cultures and backgrounds.Ability to work as an effective member of a team.Willingness to learn & continually improve own capability.Good organisational skillsGrow Safe Certification preferred.Strong drive to achieve results.A high level of personal presentation and hygieneSense of humour and can-do attitudeRestricted NZ drivers licence at a minimumPay: To be discussed and dependent on experience35 hours per week guaranteedOrchard sites are across Napier & HastingsIf you have the skills for this position and the right attitude, we would like you to join the Taylor team.
