ILT is a community owned organisation that operates 23 high quality hospitality businesses including hotels, motels, bars and restaurants through to retail bottle stores as well as two distribution centres. All profits go back to the community of Invercargill, we also provide employment to approximately 670 people.
Role Overview: As the manager for our Invercargill and Queenstown Liquor Distribution Centre, along with overseeing operations at our Liquorland shop in Invercargill, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless functioning of our distribution centres and retail outlet. Your responsibilities will encompass inventory management, logistics optimisation, compliance, and the delivery of outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities · Manage daily operations of the distribution centre and retail shop, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping of goods.
· Develop and implement strategies to optimise inventory management, minimise stockouts and ensure any discrepancies are investigated.
· Coordinate with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of products and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
· Lead and motivate a team of warehouse and shop staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
· Maintain a safe and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations and promoting best practices.
· Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and productivity.
· Oversee merchandising activities, ensuring proper product placement, signage, and presentation to maximise sales opportunities.
· Ensure the punctual and comprehensive delivery of goods to both internal and external customers, while maintaining a commitment to delivering service excellence
· Manage budgetary responsibilities, including forecasting, expense control, and resource allocation.
Skills required: · Experience in business administration, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field (preferred).
· Proven experience in warehouse management, distribution, or retail operations, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
· Show proficiency in computer operations, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and a variety of warehouse management software, with knowledge of advance retail system being beneficial.
· Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
· Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
· Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
· Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a results-driven mindset.
· Effective communication and people skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and interact at all levels.
