We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager to become an integral part of the dynamic Higgins Green Team in Hawkes Bay.About the roleWe're looking for a versatile, hands-on leader capable of overseeing our Workshop, Transportation, and Yard Operations. With a focus on enhancing plant efficiency and utilization, this role demands proactive operational management skills. You'll lead a team of 3 direct reports and 8 indirect reports, driving productivity across various functions. This full-time permanent position operates Monday to Friday, starting at 6 am.Plan and supervise trucking and plant activities so that branch needs are delivered on time and in the most cost-effective wayEnsure yards are maintained, meet health, safety and environmental requirementsManage stores, ordering, distribution and monitoring to ensure correct allocationsSchedule fleet maintenance relative to operational needs, repair urgency and availabilityEnsure plant is safe and compliantLead continuous improvement and delivery of projectsWhat you'll bring to the role Previous knowledge and experience in a similar rolePlant and people resourcing, plant utilisation, and plant cost management experienceEffective leadership and interpersonal skills, creating an environment for operational excellenceExperience with fleet management systems and reportingMechanical aptitudeAbility to plan, prioritise and schedule workHigh level of communication skills with the ability to influenceAbility to build robust and effective relationships with key stakeholdersWhat's on offer?
