Sherratt Ingredients operates offices in Auckland and Christchurch, and market-leading manufacturing and research and development facilities in Auckland.
This key appointment is based in Auckland and reports to the Managing Director. It takes responsibility for the operations functions of the business and the Hobsonville site and incorporates:
Management and leadership of the team currently with three direct reports and indirect
Food safety and quality management, ensuring best practice standards of compliance and continuous improvement
Implement and maintain Health & Safety processes including training and the development and improvement of protocols
Negotiate, manage and maintain PL and warehousing provider contracts and relationships
Oversee and manage the efficient running of the manufacturing operation including procurement, forecasting/planning/supply chain management, production and delivery to the customer
Long term planning to sure production capacity copes with increasing business requirements and is in line with other relevant kPI’s
Oversee plant maintenance and lead CAPEX planning including staff upskilling, training and development programmes
Ensure continuous cost-effective supply of raw materials and maintaining mutually beneficial and successful supplier relationships
Work to improve the efficiency and productivity of the manufacturing operation
Communicate effectively throughout the organisation and with external stakeholders
Strive to maintain and build on the positive and engaged team culture

To be successful in the role we anticipate the right candidate having a background in the food industry, strong manufacturing management skills and a proven track record of operational and team leadership. Strong commercial acumen, communication and analytical skills will also be extremely important.
