Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Accountant undertakes financial and management accounting for HortNZ and is a key member of a small but busy team. Responsibilities include but are not limited to accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, levy collection, credit control and preparation of monthly journals and accruals.
Providing support to a number of HortNZ’s affiliated product groups is a key part of the role, and thus, excellent communication and relationship building skills is a must. The successful candidate will be mature, confident and a strong team player. This is a fantastic opportunity to stamp your own mark on a newly created role with plenty of scope to further grow and develop your skillset.

Person Profile
Sound knowledge of accounting principles and practices
A partial or full accounting qualification, with 3+ years’ experience in a similar role
Highly developed written and oral communication skills
Self-motivated and uses initiative
A positive, can-do attitude
The ability to work methodically and systematically with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Analytical and proactively looks to improve operational systems and service delivery
Strong problem solving skills with the ability to display sound judgement
Strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service to all internal and external stakeholders
