Occupational Therapist at Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand Southern, Otago Youth Specialty Services, Dunedin Permanent 0.8 FTE (32 hours per week) opportunityGet involved in specialised day programme providing comprehensive assessment, treatment and assistanceDeliver excellence to youth, their family, and the wider communityAbout the team The Southern District Health Board Youth Specialty Service's (YSS) Rapoi Day Programme is a specialised day programme providing comprehensive assessment, treatment and assistance for young people to re-establish their routines and also to re-engage in education.
Mo te turanga - About the role Are you a practised Occupational Therapist holding a tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy? Do you enjoy working in a group-based programme, have relevant experience with group work, as part of a specialist youth service? Do you want to continue your great work supporting youth and their families?
If you enjoy working as an integral member of a youth-focused multidisciplinary team and have experience working with youth and their family, you shouldn't let this opportunity pass you by.
As a key worker you will have a sound knowledge of appropriate youth focussed mental health interventions and provide specialised assessment and treatment, be familiar with group processes, with a strong emphasis on family inclusion for those youth experiencing moderate to severe mental health difficulties.
In this role you will be committed to delivering excellence to youth and their family in an age appropriate and culturally appropriate manner, both in individual sessions and also within the therapeutic groups at Rapoi. You will liaise effectively in partnership with community agencies to support the youth's health and wellbeing.
It goes without saying you will be tertiary qualified with a degree in Occupational Therapy and hold a current practicing certificate, plus relevant post-graduate experience.

Utu whanui - Salary range This role belongs to the PSA/DHBs Allied, Public Health and Technical Multi-Employer Collective Agreement and falls between Step 1 ($59,035 p.a) and Step 8 ($85,992 p.a pro rata) of the Degree-Based Allied, Public Health and Technical scale.
