This 15 hour per week role (12pm-3pm) involves answering email and phone queries to support pet guardians, veterinary clinics and rescues using the NZ Companion Animal Register (NZCAR) - the microchip database for Aotearoa's pets.The successful applicant will be a self-motivated, efficient, admin superstar.Applications are welcome from people with knowledge of the NZCAR, or animal welfare experience.We'll be working to appoint someone ASAP.Tasks & responsibilitiesThe NZCAR receives many emails and freephone enquiries each day. We require a highly competent, friendly individual to provide telephone and online support to pet owners and our Approved Users (that is, veterinary clinics, animal rescues, breeders, and local councils etc).Support staff update animal records and process orders while providing advice for users to become more self-sufficient in the future. Some empathic lost animal advice is also requiredExisting staff members typically work shifts 8am until early afternoon, or early afternoon until 5pm. Weekdays only. Some of this time is sole charge. (Outside of these hours we use a 3rd party support centre so we can provide 24hour care). The current role will be 12pm-3pm covering peak phone times.Applicants must have a suitable home office set up, including a quiet place to work, suitable broadband availability etc. You must have space for a small amount of stock and the ability for quick courier pick-ups from your home.Qualifications & experienceThe successful applicant will be familiar with the companion animal industry and have experience with microchip registrations on the NZCAR.You will have an excellent and unflappable telephone manner and be able to problem solve.Strict adherence to policies, especially around privacy, is a must.As this is a work from home position, self-motivation and efficiency is critical.We are looking for the ability to contribute to a team, although working alone.A Ministry of Justice check will be required.We are looking to appoint someone who lives in a main city for ease of courier deliveries, better internet service, and access to main travel hubs.Please apply with a CV AND cover letter.
