Here is an exciting development opportunity for an experienced paediatric nurse currently practicing at the top of their scope and now looking to excel within a senior nursing role at Starship Child Health.
Paediatric Respiratory with a focus on Cystic Fibrosis

Part-time position (0.5 FTE)

ThePaediatric Respiratory Service at Starship cares for infants, young children and adolescents with disorders of the respiratory system, inclusive of the condition Cystic fibrosis (CF) which affects children of all ages and backgrounds. Our multi-disciplinary department consists of a friendly and hard-working team of nurses, physiologists, physiotherapists, dietitian's, speech and language specialists and administrative staff in addition to the doctors.
We are currently seeking a new team member to join us as a Nurse Specialist in our Respiratory Service to specialise in the care of patients with Cystic Fibrosis (CF).This role is part-time working 20 hours per week to job-share with the current Nurse Specialist.
As a Nurse Specialist in this unique role you willbe responsible for providing specialist nursing care and the coordination of care to children and young people within the Starship Respiratory Services. You will collaborate closely with the team amongst inpatient and outpatient settings to specialise and care for our patients with Cystic fibrosis. You will utilise your proven case management and case coordination capabilities to uphold our commitment to excellence in care delivery, whilst providing advice at a national level. Every day you will exercise strong communication skills, outstanding leadership and effective problem solving abilities to effectively manage the wider nursing team.
We welcome applications from registered nurses who are:
Registered with the NZ nursing council and hold a current APC
Experienced paediatric nurses currently working at the top of their scope
Natural leaders with effective communication skills
Compassionate and can show empathy to build strong relationships with whanau
