This role contributes to a supportive and progressive highly skilled inter-professional team fostering innovation, progression and commitment to service excellence in our Emergency Department. We are a diverse team of FACEM or vocationally registered emergency specialists, registrars and a nursing team who treat a volume of about 28,000 patients per year, with a 25% admission rate. We have a substantial portion of high acuity medical patients, trauma, and paediatrics, for the Tairawhiti region. Nurse Practitioner as approved and endorsed by the Nursing Council of New Zealand  The successful applicant will be practising at a senior level; be a calm and resilient individual with a 'can do' attitude and a passion for seeking improvement.  An excellent communicator and strong patient advocate. Provide treatment and interventions, including interpreting diagnostic laboratory tests and administering therapies Have a strong emphasis on team culture Provide expert clinical knowledge, skills and professional leadership within nursing. Work in partnership both clinically and professionally with senior clinical staff in area of practice, to promote health, prevent disease, diagnose, assess and manage people's health needs Provide advanced clinical care demonstrating academic and technical ability. Gisborne Hospital, a 110 bed acute care hospital which serves a wide geographical area, Tairawhiti, extending up the East Cape of New Zealand, creating enormous scope and variety in the work available to an enthusiastic ENP. Providing healthcare to a population of 54,000, Te Whatu Ora Tairawhiti is well supported locally by comprehensive surgical services and has a full range of diagnostic facilities on site including a new MRI scanner and CT scanner.
