Based at Waitakere Hospital
Waitemata Child, Women & Family Teamare looking for an experienced Registered Nurse with a passion for youth healthand health equity who is ready to take the step into a senior nursing role as aNurse Educator for our Enhanced School Based Health Services project.
This is afixed term role for 0.4 FTE (32 hours per fortnight) but we are open to combinethis with a Registered Nurse role with up to 0.6 FTE (48 hours afortnight).
This role will report to the Head ofDivision for Nursing and will work alongside dedicated school nurses. Your keyarea of responsibility will be the Enhanced School Based Health ServicesProgramme. Based at Waitakere Hospital, you will provide supervision andsupport to registered nurses working in secondary schools in West Auckland.
You will drive innovation and addressservice level issues impacting on the ESBHS, and engage with a range ofstakeholders including the Youth Health Clinical Governance Group, SchoolPrincipals, Primary Health Organisations, General Practitioners and other nurseeducators regionally to provide clinical leadership, professional developmentand best practice across the Programme.
You will be a NZ Registered Nurse witha current Practising Certificate and a minimum of 5 years post registrationexperience. You will be a highly skilled communicator, exemplify lifelonglearning and have advanced clinical nursing skills particularly in the contextof school based health care. In addition to this you would need to have aPost-graduate education in Youth Health Nursing and/or be on a post-graduatepathway. It is a given that you be an excellent role model for nursing and havean approachable, can-do manner.
