Nursing - Community, Maternal & Child Health (Healthcare & Medical)Awarua Whanau Services deliver Kaupapa Maori services that provide for whanau by servicing their social, health and education needs throughout Murihiku and rural Otago. Awarua Whanau Services has an opportunity for a New Graduate Registered Nurse to take the first step in their career in a supportive environment to develop knowledge and professional practice.About the Role - Mo te tungaIn this role you will be supporting immunisation delivery by increasing whanau knowledge around the importance of immunisation programmes. You will increase opportunities for Tamariki, Rangatahi and whanau to access disease preventable immunisations by providing a free service delivered in a range of community settings including marae, kura, mobile clinics and private homes. In this role you will be whanau focused to prepare our community for winter and increase uptake of other vaccinations.Ideally you will be a strong confident advocate of immunisation programmes. The role requires a New Graduate Registered Nurse with a NCNZ practicing certificate and an interest in community nursing. You must be eager to undertake authorised vaccinator training and have a desire to learn new skills. Excellent time management skills, adept at learning new systems and processes, and the ability to take instruction and work collaboratively in a team will also be your strengths.At Awarua Whanau Services, the ability to connect with whanau through kaupapa Maori approaches to hauora is important. If you are comfortable with tikanga Maori and Te Reo Maori that would be useful in building relationships with whanau. You must hold a full NZ drivers license, and have the ability to travel within the district to remove any barrier to access.
